Applying Biochar and Oil Palm Seeds' Resistance to Drought Stress

Biochar is a soil enhancer because it contains macronutrients and has high water-holding capacity. Research on the application of biochar resistance oil palm seedlings to drought stress was conducted determine dosing effect shell watering intervals growth pre-nursery under stress. The research in Sialang Godang Village, Bandar Petalangan District, Pelalawan Riau Province. study April 2021 – July 2021. used completely randomized design (CRD) with two factors. first factor using doses 5 levels, namely 0 g, 50 100 150 200 g. second interval which consisted 3 groups, i.e.,, once day, every days, three days. Observational data were analyzed an analysis variance, if there significant difference, continued Duncan Multiple Range Test at 5% level. results showed that giving dose grams shells days significantly increased fresh weight roots while providing biochar/polybag dry roots. Watering number secondary tertiary roots, treatment without gram/polybag width stomatal openings. There positive correlation between moisture content stomata (r = 0.26), opening stomata, 0.25).
